VoteBid Rules & Architecture
VoteBid is a decentralized, transparent product leaderboard. Ranking is purely determined by community upvotes and open funding bids — no editorial bias, no algorithms, no hidden weightings.
1. How Ranking Works
Score = (Total Upvotes × 1) + (Dollars Spent × 10)
Every whole dollar contributed carries 10 points. Every unique upvote carries 1 point. Higher scores take higher ranks. Ties are resolved by the timestamp of the older listing.
- New Listings: Starting amount is whole US dollars ($5 minimum, $999,999 maximum).
- Boosting Existing Listings: Submit the same URL or @handle again to raise your listing. The new payment is added directly to your previous total.
- Free Community Upvotes: One upvote per visitor per listing. You can click again to remove/toggle your upvote.

3. Sponsored Advertisement Auction (5 Slots)
- 5 Persistent Slots: The board maintains strictly 5 high-visibility sponsor slots pinned across all page views.
- Open Auction: Empty slots start at $10 minimum. Occupied slots can be claimed by outbidding the current bid by at least $1.
- Instant Update: Once payment confirms, your link, brand logo, and tagline immediately occupy the slot.
4. Product Submissions & Logo Scraping
- Accepted Formats: Any public product website URL or X (Twitter) @handle.
- Automatic Logo & Meta Detection: The server automatically scrapes high-res Apple touch icons, SVG favicons, OpenGraph logos, and profile avatars directly from your domain.
- Duplicate Prevention: URLs with differing protocols (`http` vs `https`), `www.` subdomains, queries, or trailing slashes automatically resolve to the same canonical listing key.
- Prohibited Links: Chat and invite links (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Signal) are blocked.
5. Payments & Security by LemonSqueezy
- Transactions are processed securely via LemonSqueezy.
- No accounts or passwords required — payments are tied directly to the listing key.
- LemonSqueezy webhook signatures are verified using HMAC-SHA256 (`ls_sec_...`) to guarantee payment authenticity before crediting leaderboard scores.
